2005 Fifth Annual Amateur Design Contest!

Use Eterna Silk™ in an original design of your own creation, and win top honors for creativity, publication in our annual book "Silken Dreams" and a cash prize! Grand Prize winner will also be included in an upcoming Eterna Silk™ advertisement in a national magazine.

PRIZES: Grand Prize: US$100 cash prize, national magazine advertisement, Silken Dreams publication, plus full line of Eterna Silk™ (MiniTwist, Stranded, Silk Twist 12, and Silk Twist 8 in all available solid shades and Overdyed Silk shades. Retail value $1849.00 or greater). First Prize: US$50 cash prize, Silken Dreams publication, Eterna Silk™ MiniTwist and Stranded in all available solid shades and Overdyed Silk shades (retail value $1162.00 or greater). Second Prize: US$25 cash prize, Silken Dreams publication, Eterna Silk™ MiniTwist and Stranded in all available solid shades (retail value $763.00 or greater). Third Prize: Silken Dreams publication, Eterna Silk™ MiniTwist in all available solid shades (retail value $354.25 or greater). Fourth Prize: Silken Dreams publication, plus top 200 colors of Eterna Silk™ MiniTwist (retail value $130.00 or greater). To participate is easy. Just create a unique original design using Eterna Silk™. Submit it, together with your name, address, and telephone number, to:

If you include return postage, your finished piece will be returned to you; if not, we retain the finished item.

Include in your submission:

1. title of the piece

2. fabric used (manufacturer, color, size)

3. thread used (be sure to let us know how much you used)

4. chart or graph of your design (winning designs will be professionally charted based on your design)

5. your name, address, telephone number, and any other contact information you think will be useful to contact you

Please be sure that ALL ITEMS clearly indicate your name, and the title of your design.

Please submit ONLY ONE item in each submission. You may enter as often as you wish, but only one item may be submitted in each package you send to us.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES:
AUGUST 31, 2005

Please assure delivery of your item by using insured mail, return receipt, or similar provision for guaranteed delivery. Your item must be postmarked no later than August 31, 2005.

No need to frame or mount your finished work--our panel of judges will consider your design based upon originality of design, use of silk thread, overall beauty or appropriateness to form/function, and mastery of stitching technique (we won't judge it by how well it is mounted or framed).

Any type of needleart item is accepted! Although Yodamo, Inc. may develop categories, depending upon the number of submissions received, categories will only be used to organize submissions and will have no bearing on selection of finalists or winners. Types of needleart submissions currently accepted (but not limited to) include: quilting, cross stitch, needlepoint, hardanger, fly-tying, weaving, knitting, tatting, crewel, brazilian, free embroidery, etc.

By submitting your item, you agree to our final decision regarding finalists and winner. If finalist or winner, you also agree that Yodamo, Inc. will retain copyright to the item, regardless of whether or not the original piece is returned to you. Finalists and winners will be included in our annual publication "Silken Dreams", to be released in Fall 2005 (and every year thereafter). If a finalist or winner, you further agree that your name will be included in the publication, together with a picture and full instructions on your submitted design. As a finalist or winner, you also agree that your design may be shown at trade shows or similar promotional events held, either in the USA, Europe, or any other country.

This contest is open ONLY to AMATEUR designers! If you are a designer with a published release of any design for pay, or if you are a designer under obligation to any design distribution house, you are not eligible to enter. Employees or agents of Yodamo, Inc., Eterna Silk™, or any of its businesses, subsidiaries, or affiliates are also ineligible to enter. All decisions made by our judges are final. Finalists and winner will be announced by September 30, 2005. All entries must be postmarked no later than August 31, 2005. Items submitted with return postage and shipping packaging will be placed in the mail or other carrier no later than October 31, 2005. Finalist items may be retained for photography until release of Silken Dreams 2005 publication. Yodamo, Inc. reserves the right to determine categories, if appropriate, based upon the total number of items submitted by the entry deadline.
